Walks Programme

Our aim is to encourage and support everyday walking and wheeling in Cambridge. The route maps on this site record key local walking routes in the city, highlighting their attractions but also identifying improvements that will make using them safer and more pleasant. Many residents have helped in this work and we thank them all.

To complement this, our walking programme gives walkers and wheelers a chance to try out some of these routes and to map new ones—over 200 people joined in our Summer and Winter Walks in 2024/2025. Our walks are led by volunteers, each explores an aspect of change in the city, and we collect feedback on the walking environment. All walks are gentle, free, and open to all.

We are always on the lookout for new topics and new walk leaders. Please contact us with your ideas.

Walks listed below are gentle and last around 1.5 hours. No need to book, just turn up on the day!
